Oh... do you think you'll have v2.0.2 out by Friday?  I'd rather wait for it btw, so I can get the TP fixes.  My site is live, but a few glitches would be perfectly ok.  I have TP, lots of mods and everything is heavily customized, so I'm sure getting the old BC uninstalled, then the new BC installed and configured might take a good bit of my weekend.

Hmm "BC"... am I the first to use that acronym?  And can we use that?  Rather than "Blog: Community"?  Or maybe "B:C"?

Actually someone else used it in an IM conversation with me and I liked it.  So I've been using it a bit.  It is a lot easier   I am getting rid of the : in between btw.

As for 2.0.2, ya it should be out by Thursday or Friday.  I've been creating the upgrade/install packages for it as I've been making changes.  So it should be a lot easier for me to get that ready.  Here's the change log from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 (so far):


*fixed* Install error in /index.php for users with TinyPortal already installed
*fixed* Undefined index: scripturl error in Who.php
*new* Admin option to hide all portal blocks on blog pages (tiny portal AND simple portal)
*new* Blog Index side windows (two optional windows: Global Tags and Most Recent)
*new* Added more "share" options (and now you can pick and choose which options to use for each blog)
*new* Two new side windows for blogs: Most Commented and Recent Comments
*new* Added plug-in "slots" for future add-ons/plug-ins.  One slot is below the "share" and "options" in the width="60" column next to the article's body text.  The other is below the "options" in the width="60" column next to the comment's body text.  This will make it a lot easier to install/uninstall add-ons/plug-ins for these two areas.  Plug-ins/Add-ons that could go here: Moods, Article Ratings, etc.  One more slot in the loadBlogIndexSideWindows function and another in the main loadSideWindows function.
*changed* prepareDefaultBlogSettings function moved to its own file: BlogSettings.php (this will make upgrading a lot easier and cleaner for future versions)
*changed* removed text censoring for editing/adding custom windows, links, and categories (everything should be censored before it is displayed anywhere except the blog control panel, though)
*changed* created a function just for tag font sizes (tag windows).  Should more accurately resize tags based on how many articles in which a specific tag is used as well as how many total instances of tags there are.
*changed* added admin options for guest CAPTCHA posting verification (can now disable entirely or disable for non-blog boards only)

*fixed* renamed getArticles to getBlogArticles so that there won't be a conflict with Simple Portal

Charles, I'm getting an error on modifying "index.php"; I have the SimplePortal mod  installed. 

I can uninstall it and get the Blog Community mod to install, and it works fine.  SimplePortal then will not install because of the changes to the "index.php" file (it also chokes on the default theme's "index.template.php" file.)

Love the Blog Community mod, so its staying!  But wanted to let you know that it isn't compatible with SimplePortal.

Ok on the first error.... That is related to the Friends Of window.... could you tell me a bit more?  Do you have any buddies on your buddy list?  Do they have blogs of their own if you do have buddies?

edit--- could you also please tell me any mods u have installed?

For the second error.... What url is that happening on?

Sorry took a couple days.  Anyway's yes had buddies on the buddies list and amazingly when I went through and simply removed a few files and such it stopped happening and now it runs perfectly.  Hm let me see if that second error is still happening in the admin panel.. Yes the admin panel-blog control gives this error

Which really i suppose isn't to horrible a deal we still found a way to use it   And now that theres a 2.0 version out.. thats for the 2. beta version yes?

I have so far used Felblog. Since i noticed that you have updated the smf blog.

I would like to change from felblog to smf blog.

Give me suggestions on it.

Now tried installing with 1.1.6 over felblog and got these three errors.

1.   Execute Modification   ./index.php   Test failed
14.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/Recent.php   Test failed
26.   Execute Modification   ./Themes/default/index.template.php   Test failed

Checked the index file and found that i have simple portal . So the default it points to simple portal.
Checked the recent and index template file. And found many codes to modify so i left it and standing in the mid to install or not.

Could you help me to continue further Charles Hill.

I have mentioned that,

I have felblog in my smf.

Could i able to upgrade the felblog contents in to smfblogs .

I tried installing , got three errors as mentioned above.

Mods conflict in installing is simple portal.

1.1.6 actually did the upgrade the other day yes sir.  no was asking if the newest release as perhaps i was reading it wrong still far to early for my brain to comprehend to much, but yes anyways was asking if that was for the beta.

It is version 2.0.1

The changes made by Charles are significant for the modification to be branded so.

Just because the modification is version 2.0.1 doesnt mean its designed for a BETA release of SMF.

I dont want to be brash or rude but by simply reading, this would have been clear.

If you have Simple Portal or TinyPortal installed, there will be a problem with the first edit in index.php (when installing Blog Community 2.0.1 Beta)... 2.0.2 Beta has fixed the compatibility issues with Simple Portal and Tiny Portal (I will be releasing this version later today).
