hi charles,

I tried to edit the blog.php like you said but for some reason the file wont let you save edits in cpanel,  so,  I tried uninstalling the mod and reinstalling,  and noticed this.

looks like you had no problem installing robbie..

are you using notpad++ to edit your files?? you need to take the blog.pp file down, add the edits (or check them) like that link that Charles pointed you to:

and then re upload the file from your desktop via ftp to the file it came out of.. this isnt a cpanel edit Robbie..

also, it should be noted that uninstalling/reinstalling is usually the WORST thing your can do.

I usually edit files from cpanel I havent even heard of notebokk ++ 

but on this occassion the file blog.php had no option to save all edits,  so i couldnt do it

notepad link here you didnt say if youwere on windows or?? but if this wont work they have a version out for mac as well.. never ever use just notepad, use the notepad++ or other text editor..

@ SmokyBlue...  Undefined index errors mean that a variable is being used that hasn't been set yet.  rss_feed is a txt variable.  Most likely you're just missing this variable in your Blog language file.  can_poll_view is a context variable.  It is a context variable.  It should only be used if viewing the blog control panel... Maybe your BlogSettings.php.  Make sure you can find the following in the blogControlPanel2 function in Blog.php:

That means you are both not the blog owner and not an admin.  You have to be an admin to view other users' blogs...  If you are an admin and are getting that message, there is something wrong with your Blog.php.

Hi Charles, I have tried to install 2.0.2 beta in my smf 1.1.6

Noted two error test failed fails.

Used the parser to manually check the files and found these simple errors,

In Default/Index.template.php file,

Find : <meta name="description" content="', $context['page_title'], '"

Present in my file as :    <meta name="description" content="', $context['page_title'], (!empty($context['description']) ? ' - '. $context['description'] : '') , '" />', empty($context['robot_no_index']) ? '' : '

So that gives me a issue.

In Source/Recent.php file,

Find : WHERE ml.ID_MSG = b.ID_LAST_MSG" .

Present in my file as : WHERE ml.ID_MSG = b.ID_LAST_MSG" . (!empty($modSettings['recycle_enable']) && $modSettings['recycle_board'] > 0 ? "

Find : WHERE b.ID_CAT IN (" . implode(', ', $_REQUEST['c']) . ")

Present in two lines : Line 237 & Line 1375 So conflict occurs

Give me a solution for the above errors.

I have attached the index.template file and recent file.

Kindly help me to modify it, i will install with errors and then replace the edited file charles.

Help me with the felblog conversion tool also.

Have you considered making a dev subdomain with the same files as your live site?  That way you can make edits and test them before uploading changes to your live site.... can avoid a lot of problems that way.  And can increase your user base's confidence in you.

I would really prefer not to get into making manual edits for anyone as my time is extremely scarce already....

yeah charles,  I edited the files in blog.php and then started getting this message when trying to view a members blog as admin

Well it uses the defaultAvatar.png as the avatar for a board if the blog owner's avatar was not found... That is a highly complex feature and it may have some minor bugs.  Are you sure those users have avatars?

What did you modify in the Blog.php?

yep the user added an avatar of there own then made a blog,  I saw the avatar he used,  then for some reason the avatar switched only in the blog section to that of an iceberg.

in blog.php I edited the fix for the database error that you showed me,  thats when I started getting this

Uh.... the fix I gave was for the Blog() function... you are getting the "Hey! Get down from there!" message when attempting to view someone's blog control panel yes?  The blog control panel is handled by the function blogControlPanel2()


Ya I'll have to run some more tests on the avatar on blog index feature... I'll be working a lot with attachments/avatars/file/downloads for the store front I am building and for an additional couple features in the Blog Community mod.  So hopefully I'll figure out what the problem is.
