snookstah,

1- if you got errors on install in load.php, then your MUST manually make those edits.
2- if install_db_edits did not run, then you don't have the database tables that are needed....

(eval means that the error is not actually IN that file, just that it got triggered while running code in that file)

As for the theme....  the blog system uses it's own themes... so there may be some overlap between smf css and the blog css which may be incopatable...   try running on the default smf theme to verify installation is correct and then make a custom theme for the blog that matches your smf theme.

Thank you for your suggestions. I don't feel this version of zCommunity is stable enough. I suppose I'll wait for a non-Beta version, if it ever does come out. I'm so disappointed, I was really looking forward to giving my members this blog functionality. Hopefully this mod, or some other mod, will come through soon.

I do not believe that there are any plugins, currently.   However, one would assume that, when they are made, they will be available on the creator's site.

Started using this, getting my way in admin options now.

Just one question and one remark

Question: Is it lets say "legal" for the author to move the copyright of zcommunity on the bottom on my forum, along the SMF copyright? it will be always visible but it fits better to my eyes. im not asking to completely remove the copyright

Remark: Had big issues with 0.8.1 and TP, tried various ways to hide the TP blocks in the blog admin area and the test blog i created with no avail. With 0.7.8 its fine

Regards,
Inny

And again, the solution is: use 0.7.9 :)

It works perfectly. I only had to tweak a few color things to suit my theme.

Found a problem with 0.8.1
See attached error log. Am setting mine back to the stable version.
These errors began the second I added the beta version and stopped once I uninstalled it.
I am running 1.1.8 if that helps

I'm using TP 0.9.8 with SMF 1.1.8. After installing zCommunity it does not show my original frontpage I was using on my forum and has been replaced with the blog frontpage. How does one remove the blog from showing as the frontpage and have my original TP frontpage & blocks show?

Hope that's understandable.

Try switching the blog to community mode instead of individual blog and see if that works.  Thats what I'm doing until another version is released

I've had time recently to work on zCommunity... it's coming along very nicely.  Again you can check it out at the following link:
http://degreesofzero.com/dev/_zc/zCommunity/

That's it stand-alone (without SMF), but it will not be difficult to integrate it with SMF.  I've been cleaning up the template side of things so that it'll be a lot easier to work with and much more stable when integrating with SMF.

Is it possible to begin with the stand-alone and work it into a theme? I am only using the default theme but am also using Tiny Portal v1.0 beta 3.

My problem is that I cannot remove the portal side blocks when I have it select "Don't show forum template layers on community page" it still displays the portal blocks.

When I am on the blog Community page the header and navbar are not diplaying the same as the forum.

Any help, comments, suggestions?

I am running SMF 1.1.9 and Tiny Portal v1.0 beta 3 with zCommunity 0.8.1

I am also wondering if anyone has an opinion about articles, not sure I like TP's article function.

Have a great day everyone!

You've answered your question with the quote.

I tried to create a category and got this error.

"Unknown column 'member_id' in 'field list'
File: /home/afrowall/public_html/zCommunity/Sources/Subs-CP.php
Line: 131

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.9, while your database is at version 1.1.6. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php."

Any idea what to do? I am on 1.1.9version fo smf
