Thanks for the update Charles.

Looks like I should bail on my memory errors:

Ah, more problems.

zCommunity works fine for ME and for my two admins. Everybody else gets an error message when they click the Blogs tab:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zc_template_body_above() (previously declared in /home/designs4/public_html/meowmommy/smf/zCommunity/Themes/default/index.template.php:26) in /home/designs4/public_html/meowmommy/smf/zCommunity/Themes/smfcore/index.template.php on line 36

I'm not comfortable enough to try messing with this myself. I think it PROBABLY has something to do with permissions; I created a test account and made it a moderator and got that error. Then I made it an admin and could access everything just fine.

Adding: Now I'm getting the same error on my main account, but randomly.

I installed zCommunity on my test forum and it worked perfectly.

So I just tried to install it on my regular forum. All of the tests are successful when I apply the mod, but when I click Install Now, I get:

Could not find the necessary zCommunity sources files. Database edits failed!

I'm running SMF 1.1.10 with the default theme, and yes, I DID copy the zCommunity_0_8_1_beta__files folder to the proper directory before I installed it. The other mods I have are Shop, Arcade, Custom BBCode, Custom Form, Custom Action, Gallery Lite, and Dice Roller. All of those are also on my beta site, which is set up pretty much identically to the main one.

One possibility: the last item listed under Install Actions is:

5. Execute Code install_db_edits.php

I don't have this file ANYWHERE, even after re-unzipping the original files.

Odd. Scrap that. I tried for HOURS last night and got the same thing. Today I signed on and tried it just for the heck of it, and it installed fine.

Hi I'm trying to install but a get an error message. The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.

I unzipped the packaged and uploaded the zCommunity_0_8_1_beta__files to the root of the intallation directory. Then I tried to upload the zipped packages with the ui

I'm new at this so maby i'm O:)

Hello all.

I have launched the new Degrees of Zero (see announcement for details). I have decided that I will make a zCommunity/SMF bridge and post that bridge to SMF's mod site. When this bridge will be available, I do not know. I will be making a pre-release version available soon, though. Please sign up to receive a pre-release version via the Contact Us form on my site. Thank you.

This mod is no longer being updated as an SMF extension. As advised by the mod's creator, Charles Hill, this has expanded into a self-sustaining, standalone, all-by-itself, no SMF needed, no longer a mod, application. That being said, I'm fairly certain that it will not be supported by the author/creator, which means that it will not be updated to smf 2.0 rc1.2.

As far as the people having issues with the existing mods and the 1.x.x version of SMF, it's a bit of a tricky setup. There are instructions, make sure to follow them to the letter. Those of you upgrading from an old version, you want to UNINSTALL the old version first, and then INSTALL the new version.

Past that, I move that the mod itself be removed, and that a separate topic be made starting from the Announcement that this will no longer be a mod for SMF.

Thank you!

I tried to install the mod before uploading the files, what can I do to make it work?

Seconded; it's pretty confusing at the moment.

Kindred

What is confusing? 0.7.9 works on SMF 1.1.x and 2.0
0.8.1 works for some people...

Both are still valid mods for SMF installation.

The author has stated that, once he has the stand alone running the way he wants, he'll port a bridge for smf (probably as an smf mod)

So, this can and should stay just like it is right now...

you 1- did not upload the files section of the package and 2- did not run the database install portion.

I uploaded the _files.zip to the packages directory. That didn't work, so then did it to the main directory, but that didnt work.

How do you run the database install bit? I tried the install bit from the package area?

did you read the instructions at all?

UNZIP and upload all of the files into a separate directory off of the root.

the database file is uploaded but sometimes fails to run. extract it from the zip, upload and run it.

Hello quick question,

In past, I have used the old "blog community" system when it came out and had have good success with it. I remember that it was posting each blog as a hidden board and each post as a thread.

What I really wanted in this system was that it would post all blogs as a thread in a particular board visible to everyone.

Has such a feature been added, is available, or can be modified to work in the way above?

No and no... the author went a completely different direction. The blogs are now completely stand-alone... not tied to the message boards/message tables in any way whatsoever.

That's unfortunate. Thanks for the quick reply.

Hello, today while validating our Zcommunity RSS feed, we recieved the following error:

QuoteXML parsing error: <unknown>:127:68: junk after document element

The text is very long, but it's basically over 100 lines of:

cost of tenoretic pills

atenolol for sale online

buying tenormin online without prescription

how much does tenormin cost

cost of tenormin pills

buy tenormin in the uk

Any help would be appreciated. There doesn't seem to be any output code after the echo of
, other than obExit();
