I am running SMF 1.1.7 and, after modifications to the Profile.php and Profile.english.php files, I did not see a new whois-server when I clicked an IP number. Is there something else I need to do ro make it work?

Are you using UTF-8, a theme or a non-English language setting?

william777

Thanks Deprecated. No, I do not use any non-English language.

William, I have updated this package in an attempt to fix your problem, and I have also made it easier to install on UTF-8 and British language selections. Please download and apply the new version of this package, and do remember to uninstall the old one first.

If it still doesn't work, attach your Profile.php file to your reply post.

Thanks Deprecated for your invaluable assistance. I see the IP 2 Location (all regions) in the list now. And when I clicked it, I can see details from the IP2Location site. Great mod.

I'm glad to have helped you William! :) I suspected that you had a language string problem, so I fixed that on my end. I'll be adding the UTF-8 and British language strings to all my mods shortly.

Too bad it isn't that easy to fix theme problems! :)

Philippines eh? :D

It was one of my users from the Philippines. I am from Australia and this is my website www.leeyoungae.com.au  [Not sure whether I am allowed to advertise here!!]

Lee Young Ae Fan Club, eh? :) Shes' cute! :) Posting one link is not generally advertising, and I certainly don't see any reason why you couldn't put your link in your signature if you liked. Many SMF members list their websites in their signatures (as long as they are family acceptable and not hacking related).

Anyway I'm glad to have helped you. :) We're off topic here so I'd like to get back to the technical discussion. Good luck with your forum and with Ms. Lee. :)

thanks for the great mod. I'm wondering if this tracking site could be used in this mod.

Hi Deprecated - I've got this running perfectly in RC1.2, but will be upgrading to RC2 over the Christmas holidays  - any chance of the upgrade being available by then?

Although it's not essential to the site due upgrade, I do find it very useful and time-saving

Thanks for your great work this far.

Hi Deprecated, I am using IP2Location 1.2. Is your latest 1.3 version also meant for SMF 1.1.11 ? If so, how do I upgrade to version 1.3?

Thanks.

William

Good idea. ;)

Turkish translate:

Themes/default/languages/Modifications.turkish.php
$txt['whois_ip2location'] = '<b>IP 2 Yer (bütün bölgeler)</b>';

Getting the following error, RC2 - custom theme.

Hello, I have installed this on SMF 1.1.11 and it works for me (default theme and admin access) but my moderators cannot see the "Track User" or "Track IP" options in any member's profile. Is that normal? Could you please fix that? Thanks. :)

Hi deprecated.

I've been using this mod for several years on SMF 1.x and find it a useful feature.  Im currently in the process of upgrading to SMF2.0 and have just tried installing this mod on my test forum, but it doesnt seem to work.

The installation appeared to go without any problems, but the facility to use IP2location just does not appear in the options when you 'track an IP'.

The mod shows in the 'Browse Packages' but no green light.

Does this need updating to be compatible with SMF2.0 or have I done something wrong?

I agree with kitz, i also use this mod regularly to keep my forums safer, but this mod needs to be fixed and updated. :)
