Where do you want to add your logo?

Removing the simple machines text has been answered towards the beginning of this thread. I know, because I asked the question. ;)

It will be safer if you scroll back and find bloc's answer than if I try and explain it to you, because my PHP skills are zero.

kerux4

I want it to be at the top. Here is the logo I want to add:

The theme has been changed a few times since then..but its the same spot for this change -  index.template.php and remove or replace this code with your own:

<div style="padding-left: 20px;position: relative; top: -4px;text-transform: capitalize; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;letter-spacing:-1px; "><b><span class="greyheader">Simple</span><span style="color: #b0b0b0;">Machines</span><span class="greyheader">Forum</span></b></div>

Ok, still a newbie to all of this, so I would upload my logo to the forum and then enter it here?
C-YA,
Mike

bloc

Yes. Simply replace the above code with something like <img src="pathtoyourpicture" alt="" /> and upload the picture.

kerux4

Ok so, i would replace this whole line:

<div style="padding-left: 20px;position: relative; top: -4px;text-transform: capitalize; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;letter-spacing:-1px; "><b><span class="greyheader">Simple</span><span style="color: #b0b0b0;">Machines</span><span class="greyheader">Forum</span></b></div>

With say:

<img src="flames77777777.gif" alt="" />

After I upload this picture into my images folder for the theme??
C-YA,
Mike

bloc

almost..to make it work at that place you need to add something to the path:

<img src="'.$settings['images_url'].'/flames77777777.gif" alt="" />

It will then look in your theme's images folder.

nolageek

The only thing php can't do is tell you how much milk is left in the fridge.

nolageek

This is  what I keep getting.  It works fine in  other themes.

MadDoc

Hi,

I'm sorry if this has already been asked but i'm really new to this and this thread is HUGE :).

I have just newly installed SMF. I downloaded your theme and use the admin panel to upload the .tar file.

It said that the install was successful but this is what it looks like:

hxxp:www.igarry.com/images/misc/admin.png [nonactive]
hxxp:www.igarry.com/images/misc/index.png [nonactive]

I think I have done something wrong :?. Can anyone help me out?

MadDoc,

bloc

nolageek, it seems language files are missing or wrong. What language do you use?

MadDoc, it seems while installing the theme you didn't take away the "themexx"  in the lower box. It will then just copy the default theme...

...or check the path to theme images and actual theme folder are correct.

Thanks Bloc! It took first time with no problem. http://www.extremechristianministries.com/forum/

Chalk it up to another instance of a newbie who didn't RTFM.  I had just uploaded the files into place without added the theme via the Admin Tools. :(  I got it all working  a few minutes ago.  UHg.

Thanks!

Hi

i love this Simplicity theme .....

i wish to add in the "RECENT POSTS" section under each topic where it shows the date:time
to add also the number of times a topic has been read
and also the number of replies.

any help appreciated

Thanks

tranceterry

Me again.

i really like how the SMF provides lots of stats

however also since i love the snimplicity theme so much i thought i'd ask this question here, though may not apply here

i want to add a scoreboard page which shows the post read topics
or the most replied to topics

sort of like a music top40 chart toppers type thing

any help appreciated

Thanks

tranceterry

ok

i'm an idiot

i see that statistic section shows all the stats one can want

i'll somehow work out the code that makes "Top 10" replies and views
and some how create a link from the main index page

Thanks

tranceterry

Hi Bloc

am i able to hard-code links in the left-window pane as well as the right-window pain of the "simplicity" theme
and if so can you kindly tell me which files exactly to look for and where so i can have a look to editing them.

Thanks
