All my mod package does is automate the process of hacking out the unnecessary code, everything but SMF's copyright.

Good luck!

Asshandler

Success!

Manually went in and edited the code, removed the ad the other guy had snuck in there, and removed the images that your hack would have removed automatically.

Not sure where the incompatability was, but all seems to be working after the change.

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.

The package installer is pretty dumb. The signature has to look EXACTLY like it is expecting or it won't work.

I'm glad you succeeded. Enjoy! :)

Hmmm one last question... now it reads

QuotePowered by SMF 1.1.6 | SMF © 2006-2008, Simple Machines LLC   Page created in 0.119 seconds with 13 queries.

Adding a <br > icon causes the page to crash (I tried already lol), how would i go about seperating the "Page created in..." on a separate line?

well it's <br /> but that wouldn't crash it. You probably did it outside of the echo, or you inserted it in the echo arguments list but didn't put it in quotes. Just guessing the latter, try putting single quotes around your HTML like this: '<br />' and it should be separated by commas. If my memory is right it would be like this:

theme_copyright, '<br />',

If that's not right I promise to delete this post and claim I never said that. ;) :P

Asshandler

lol ok, I'll give 'er a try and let you know how it goes.

Great. And good luck in your donkey and burro business! ;) ;) ;) :P >:D

:D  EA actually banned my username online (even though I use it for everything these days), I considered making my new one Donkeyhandler, but figured I'd be pushing my luck.  lol

Thank you for this mod. Can you add an extra option to administer it from the Administrator Panel where I can turn it on and off? Like you have done with your other mods? Or at least can you provide the instructions here?

Deprecated

Uh... this is not quite that kind of mod. The control panel code would be several times larger than the feature it controls.

To turn it on --> install it.

To turn it off --> uninstall it.

Sorry. :)

greenorama10

Ok Mister. Can you post here what I will have to do to add that extra option in the Administrator Panel or you simply do not know how to it and give me some meaningless answers ;)

Deprecated

This mod package is a simple edit of one small spot in one file. Adding a control setting to turn it on and off would take 3x as much code as the mod itself. Actually it would take several times more code since it would have to be done in both 1.1.6 and 2.0.

If you want the mod, install it. It's not the kind of thing you keep changing your mind and turning on and off and on an off.

greenorama10

You did it again, meaningless bloober. Can you tell me what changes I should make to get that option in the Administrator Panel or not? If you do not know then say that and spare me the lectures ;)

Hey Deprecated, as usual, this is a terrific mod, but I'm getting an error when trying to install. Specifically, failure with /default/index.template.php I've attached it to this post so you can see what's going on. Thanks in advance!

Deprecated

Sure I can tell you why my mod won't install. It's because your mod by 2by2host.com stepped on my target. You'll either have to remove their mod first or go without mine. Or you can post a support request in their support topic.

Keywords: 2by2host hosed my template with their advertisement :P ;)

I'm tempted to make a mod package that would remove the advert so that my mod can install.........

Well, that mod screwed up a lot of my files, so I just spent the last hour and a half uninstalling every mod and re-uploading all the important files. I guess I need to be more careful which mods I install. Good news is, I shouldn't have any problem installing your mods now. Thanks again!
