i've been using 2.0 on one of my sites now for over a year.  Aside from some bugs i've had no problem.

We all know how anxious you guys are -- we are too, but we really want to put out a good quality product :)

Really I'm not that fussed. 115 is fine. I'll grab 2 when TP have it sorted but there's no problem with using 115 for a while. I rarely need moderation controls anyway.

And meanwhile, SimplePortal is already well on its way to an SMF 2.0 compatible version. We should have an announcement about that in a few days over on http://simpleportal.devira.info
Do NOT PM me for support.

And what's the point in nagging SMF about 2.0 gold then? :D

Gotcha! ;)

The most severe i can remember was in an alpha build last October where nobody could edit their profiles.  -- and that was an easy fix

Cool. They wont start until it's has a least one or two RC's though. Aint no point nagging 'em.

Can't blame then really when a big change like html templates is added on a beta 4.  I welcome html templates by the way

Uh oh... Looks like I've got some mod rework coming down the pike.

I really don't understand the point of Simple Portal.
Complex Portal (meaning TP  :P ) offers one hell of a lot for a simple installation process. I certainly don't want anything "simpler". I installed TP because of its features.

Thanks for constructive feedbacks everyone! Not even one flamethrower aimed at me! :)

Btw going "Gold" is known in the software industry as a -FINAL build of a product and has begun distribution...

There is however a known fact that a product will loose its traction in the market if its never released! Just look at the Playstation 3 or Duke Nukem Forever... Don't make this a Duke Nukem Forever, please!!!

so next week I will start the 2.0b3 to boldly go where no one has gone before
godspeed to myself

I expect Bloc to start working on TP for SMF 2.0 any day now. I think he just finished up bug squashing the next beta release for SMF 1.1.5.

Although it will be some time still before we actually see it for SMF 2.0. Bloc is a very ambitious man with little help. I try to support him and his project the best I can.

Yes I don't expect it to be public beta until the end of the year, or thereabouts.  I think that's roughly the right timeframe.
