No image in recent posts

How can I get the images, video clips, etc. to appear in the recent posts (Forum Stats/View the most recent posts on the forum.)?  Is there an admin setting I missed?  It just looks strange with blank posts.

Actually, the correct question is how do I get attached pics to display in recent posts (pics using the Insert Image button display fine)?
