I tried to fix the smilies and fonts in FF and Safari and I made it worse 
Now, people can't even send messages

I got it to send messages again but smilies and fonts still don't work in Safari and FF. It might have to do something with the theme because I tried it in a different custom theme and it works.

i use the shoutbox obviously
but some ppl have said they can't view it on internet explorer
i only use a mac so can't have a look to see why

has anyone else come across this issue and what can be done about it

Yes, I have a couple if Internet Explorer users that are also not able to see the text. I have asked if they are using IE 7 or 8. but they have not responded.

I have these browsers & am able to see & use ShoutBox fine:
PC ~ FireFox, Safari, IE 7
Mac ~ FireFox, Safari

I think it is an IE 8 problem.

There is a ie 8 fix. You can download it at the mod site, but the latest version should work on ie8 anyway...

Hi .. I still can't add this shoutbox for custom themes ..

I can't download the parse info on the mod's page and your website is down.


I'd like to know how to add the Shoutbox at the bottom of the index page ... I tried to edit the index.template.php and put this "template_HP_shoutBoxMain();" function but it gives me a huge error which my board doesn't work at all, so I have to take it off.


Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, everything pertaining to the shoutbox in the admin control panel isn't showing up. Like the link to go to the Manage Shoutbox page is not showing on the left side of the Admin Panel. Also the text for the check boxes in the permissions settings aren't showing. I was just able to configure the shoutbox by looking at another forum I use this shoutbox with.

Please help me fix this.

Also, can't the shoutbox have an archive of pages so people can backk-read shoutbox posts?

Ok, I made the shoutbox appear but there is 1 problem yet:

Everytime I open the page it automaticly scrolls down to the bottom where the shoutbox is ... This includes clicking in the Banner (Logo) or pressing F5 to refresh it ...

Any idea to fix it? (Putting the shoutbox at the top isn't a solution though).

Another problem I'm having is since I installed the chat, a lot of users are saying that the system logs them out every time they try to read a new message or topic or post in the boards

We are successfully using Hacks with SMF 2.0 RC1.2 and would like to upgrade to SMF 2.0 RC2 but are hesitant because of Hacks compatibility. Do you have a time frame for when an updated version will be published.  Having the shoutbox is more important to us than performing the upgrade, even though we are having some issues that will be potentially corrected by RC2.  Thanks!

I have upgraded to SMF2 RC2 & can't seem to get the shoutbox to appear, despite permissions for every group to use it. No errors in installation...

i just waana know is there any code by which when a New Topic Or New Post Came That Link  Shuld Be Visble In Shout box..  like if someone post something the post link automatically comes in shoutbox....
