Can it be done, if so where do I find this option.

On my forums I have one forum where I want to allow folks to post a thread without having to register, but I don't want them to be free posting, I want human verification there for obvious reasons.

Thanks for any assistance you guys can provide.

Yes.

I have used these things before...like I was a user on another forums just yesterday...

I have ran through the FAQs on the system and searched the system for "human verification" (which by the way pulls up a bunch of spam related information and nothing concerned with what I am asking as far as I can see) and unfortunately the only thing I have found is human verification for Posting with a registered user via user post count, human verification for guest searching, and human verification on registration.

You know what would be a really helpful thing if this topic truly has been discussed, if you stated that the topic was already discussed and then provided a link to said discussion thread as any non-combative forum user would do.  Of course, asking for standard human respect from anyone over the internet is like pulling teeth apparently; I knew I expected too much from an open source script...

So I ask again, is there a way, and how do I accomplish, human verification for guest posting to a forum with the standard install (no mods) of SMF and without requiring registration?

If not, I'm buying another vBulletin license and staying put.
