Searching for a version number, 1.1.7 fails

I just tried to use this forum to search for posts related to version 1.1.7.  I could already see at least one topic/post with 1.1.7 in it.  When I entered 1.1.7 in the search no results were returned.

NB: The 'Entire site search' does not fail.

I have reported this to our internal bug tracker, since it is on a private section of the bug tracker, there isn't a link to it.
