Ya, I have no clue why they would want to know what your site's about if they're not going to use it for anything.

So I removed my url and recreated the account, this time choosing Finances to define my site.  I put the new id and password in my settings, and this is the ad that comes up...

Somehow I just can't see myself facilitating internet communications between some little girl and her grandma, and then feeding them this kind of stuff.

It took me a while to figure it out.  Have you found your ID and Password yet?  Once it is running on your forum, you need to enable scripting to run from toksta.com and aokdn.com... that is, if you have any sort of script blocker running, such as NoScript for FireFox.  I'm not sure who/what aokdn.com is, but it doesn't seem to run without scripting enabled from there.

It also wants to run scripts from googleadservices.com and google-analytics.com, though those don't need to be enabled.

The whole reason I'm using something like SMF is that it's open source freeware, with very subtle ads at the bottom of the page which people don't even notice unless they're looking for it.  Those flashing hot-babe ads don't cut it for me, though YMMV.

I found and added my ID/Password. If you don't insert it correctly it displays some cannot contact server or something message in the bar(I copied the ] bracket at the end of the password the first time before I caught it). I also run No Script and I temp. unblocked everything that was blocked and nothing changed. I also did the same for the other browsers and nothing.

I installed it on my older test site and it's the same thing there as well. The bar shows me as logged in with Firefox but when I try any other browser it's the same thing as I posted earlier. I'm starting to think it's my computer.

I only know of Chrome being fussy about it... do you have any other computer or site admin to test it with?

Well I tried it out in IE 7 and got scripting errors box popped up... I tried to select no to stop running the script and it kept coming back again and again until IE crashed

I then tried in Firefox and got an error the first time I clicked it about pop ups... I selected to allow pop ups and the second time the chat box came up.

Ok just thought I would pass it along.  I disabled it for now but hopefully a solution can be found.... it would be great for my site

Thanks Fustrate i was going to shoot them an email and tell them i was interested in the $39.99 plan if they can fix those scripting errors. However, I cannot find any support email on their site, only the skype link. Don't want to download skype just to ask a support question. If they have email support it is hidden very well. Seemed a bit odd.

Wow i am blind thanks frustrate.

Grischa says IE and Firefox should work?  Oh well, I tried IE at home and work and it doesn't work either location.

"Error on Page" Javascript: tokstachat ('9966') and the bottom of the browser... and then IE script error box pop up followed by IE locking up...

I guess I am just really unlucky

hello sorry i know this probably will not help but I will post it anyway just in case it means something which someone else smarter than me can make out of it   This is the little pop up i get when click the little error icon at the bottom of my browser when this problem occurs

Hi grischa if you want an account to test in my forum please IM me here. I will leave it off until I know you are going to test it due to the problems mentioned below

I accidental left the Toksta chat enabled last night after testing... I had 3 IM's from people saying the back button in their browser was no longer working properly in the forum, even though they were not using or even aware of the chat.  Sure enough, I was also having problems using the back button and moving about the forum in general on AOL and IE.  Disabled the chat and it went away.

Well I haven't got a clue what I am doing? I just installed, got the id and pass, enabled and er nothing?

When I try the WP plug-in because my site is funny, I have a front-end WP and a backend SMF...

I got a pop up box to chat but a message at the top of the forum saying something about a pic jpg id being not allowed.



I have been so excited about a mod like this to come along.  Toksta if you are following this thread, please make it work!  And easy to follow!  Ta!

For now I think I will disable just in case - my lot are a fussy bunch LOL

I love the look of the beta chat room too!    Just what we want!

I have just sent grischa the log in information for test account. I just asked him to IM me when he is logged in to my site so I can enable it long enough for him to test it out.

Hopefully a solution can be found for the scripting errors and the drag on the forum. Whatever the fix, it sounds like it might take a while to resolve. Cheers!

The drag might be due to the fact that they resize avatars... I could post something when I get home, but that might take a while
