And thats pretty standard, on most forums, to need 10 posts, before you can add a
signature, I have mixed feelings on that,... On the first forum I ever started, one of the first people,that registered, some lady (or at least the name was female ) posted,
and her post had 50 some odd links in the signature, all advertiseng, and pornsites.
So I deleted her as a member, now I am kind of "rambleng" and all I had planed to say was I liked the image,..

No, you make 10 thoughtful and contributing posts. Purposely spamming topics to get to 10 posts isn't the way to do it.

It is quite useless thinking of 10 post. See if a person is spammer he will definitely post spam today or tomorrow.

most spammers are caught by the team so if they got a sig or not is usually not much of an issue anyway

Not to mention, they can use the SpamBot Search Tool to look for spammers

actually we dont use such tools here, and since only the admin can view the details in the profile the team can not use that to validate a spammer.

Only admins can see that information.
Most team members do not have admin rights on this site and thus, can not do so.

But what exactly is considered a spammer, or spam,...
I always thought of spammers, as these people that send tons of e-mails, or posts, advertiseing ,products, commercial. A person that just includes their web site and perhaps their forum URL in their signature ? I don't see them as spammers ?
That is a draw back to the needing 10 posts, to be able to start useing a signature,
it motivates people to post, as many times as they can, but then if you want people to post on your forum, that is a good way, to get more posts comeing in.
So all and all it is a good rule.
