Forum search indexing on server side...?

Hi, everybody!

I have really big smf forum and search function is going very slow When I try to create full-text index, it's loading like 5 or 10 minutes and than fail, like server didn't response.

Can I do it somehow faster? Run some script on server-side?

Did you also try running the 'Optimize tables' function in the Admin center?

Hi! Thanks for reply. I can switch to full-text index, but below this option I can see link to "Create index". If I click on it, after 10 minutes of loading it's just showing up browser's erro page...

Thanks for sphinx solution, i will try it. I already install google custom search and yandex (russian biggest SE) custom search on my forum.
