Double-posts aren't that bad but that was insane.
Just modify your posts for multi-quotes, bud.

The replies are to two individuals. Keeping the quotes separate in two posts helps clarify that that. Putting things in just one post can also cause the one comment to go missed Insanity explained. :)

Don't worry people interested in a reply will skim the post to see if there is one.

I can't say I do worry. Nor can I say I assume what others will do either.
But have you anything in relation to this topic to say though?  ???  :)

Already said it a few posts back.

Host the images yourself as in the short term it seems like a good idea to keep space free on your server, but a couple of years down the line as peoples photobocket accounts expire you will have missing images all over the place! We must have 50 useless topics as a result of this.

Have you considered making other art sites, like DeviantArt, a more prominent part of your forum / site? Like you could make an icon / position for a link to a person's DA account in the profile / info area next to every post or you could also make a board for people's DA art or something similar.

Thanks very much for your reply. Raised a good point there I hadn't considered.  :)

Thanks for you reply.
I can't really see the point in having a Deviant Art type of site. Deviant Art does it well I think.
The intention really has been for the portrayal of the human body in art - drawing painting, in the classic tradition. Digital art too, but not photography. I think once I allow photography, it could be seen as an invite for porn, and I don't want that.
The intention is for guides on how to go about drawing and painting.
There is a lot yet I haven't quite made my mind up on.
The suggestion you have put there is one I hadn't considered, and it could well be a good one.  :)

Well, I didn't mean to make your site like DA. I meant to make the hosting that DA does kinda / sorta "integrated" into your site, a more prominent part. Like with the icons on under your avatar on here, you could make an icon / link to members' DA accounts.

That might make it seem like having a quick link to DA, because of it hosting artwork, is a feature of your site. That might also get them used to using other sites for hosting, as you'd be using DA for that.

But not just DA, any site that hosts artwork.

Yes. That's a great idea. It could even help lift the site up the rankings. Much thanks.  :)

In general, it will take quite some time before you take up 3gb of space. If that happens you can always hold out a tin can or run ads.

Yes. I have considered Paypal donations, but ads I wouldn't go along with, as they can be a source for spyware etc.

many thanks.  :)
