Hi

Currently I have a website at www.XXXXX.com/index.html

My Forum is at www.XXXXX.com/smfforum

Is there an easy way to have my forum open when someone enters www.XXXXX.com ?

In other words, I want to lose the initial website page so visitors go straight to smfforum

Ideas?

Im running latest 2.0 RC1.2

Thanks

Of course.

Simply move the forum files, and then run repair_settings.php and fix all the paths.

So, I only have to move the smfforum folder into the root of the website and then upload/run repair_settings.php ?

Will repair_settings.php automatically put things right or do I have to go thru stuff step-by-step?

Also, my landing page is set to index.html - do I need to delete that page and then visitors will automatically go to www.XXXX.com/smfforum ?

Finally, do i have to tell Google that Ive made this change as it will be looking for pages under the old format?

Thanks

By moving the software, they don't need to be redirected.

Yes, repair_settings.php will fix everything for you. Just click all the "default" values.

Sorry - what do you mean by "moving the software" and also what do you mean by "they"

Sorry for being thick

Copy all the contents of your smfforum folder to your root folder and run repair.  It should be all automatic and straight forward.
