Is there a detailed tutorial about how to code a template for SMF 2.0?

I have always had to rely on other people to code my designs into SMF, however now I am biting the bullet and want to learn.   I have a good deal of HTML/PHP/SQL knowledge etc, but I would like to know if there is a step by step guide on how to code templates for SMF2.0?

I am not talking about simply updating the CSS, I am talking about updating the layout for SMF, customizing every page, different header layouts, new graphics, so on and so forth.

If someone could like me too a tutorial for this, I would be eternally grateful.
