quastion about themes?

i am thinking of changing the some stuff in theme as background color etc so is it ok to do that ? that not illegally?
and what about moving theme copyright from page ?

depends on the theme but most themes you can change what you like aslong as you leave the copyright of the theme (best ask the theme author) but please remember you must keep the SMF cipyright in place and it must be easy to read
