imPulse2 is a rewrite of the original "impulse" theme, now for SMF 2.0 Final and making use of Mootools for its dropdown menus. It is green(ish) in tone, different from the original blue, but still based on the patterned background as the original.

- Extras: Photoshop source files or editing the backgrounds.

No, I have no plans for changing this theme, I am quite happy with how it looks now.

However, if you need it without the backgrounds, just change the background images, they are pretty self-explanatory, inside "impulse2/images/theme" : left, right, topleft, topright, bot, botleft and botright.jpg

I am having trouble with the menus not staying open long enough to get my pointer on them. I am using portamx portal, ajax chat (neonneo), and highslide if any of that matters.

It most certainly matters I am afraid: the javascript used in either of those might collide with the Mootools used in the theme. Check that you don't load the Mootools library twice for example, or that both Jquery and Mootools are both loaded.

Due to this I will however, make an option to simply use the SMF built-in menu css code.

Well thank you Bloc. Since I have no idea what mootools is I would say your suggested update is best for people like me! This is a great theme! The best one for RC2 IMO so I would love to be able to use it as my default for everyone. Thanks again!

To the author Bloc, this is a great theme.  I would like to use it but instead of having the Forum Title on the top, I would like to add an image.  I tried to change the "Logo Image URL" in "Theme Option and Preferences", however I could not get the Forum Title Text to disappear. 

Will it be necessary to modify the PHP code to allow for an image on the top of the theme where the Forum Title is currently written?  If so, any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

It has to be changed i am afraid, but I'll change this along with option to use SMF based menus, as requested.

I won't be able to update until over the weekend though, celebrating Christmas with relatives atm.

Updates 28.dec.2009:

- Its now possible to set a logo instead of forum title.
- You can choose between using the Mootools animated menus or SMF built-in menus.
- An error with profile fields in posts have been fixed.(a modified Display.template have been added)

Hi Bloc,

Really nice job with the theme.  I do have a "small" issue.   If I disable Mootools via Current Theme the User area at the top (search and login area) disappears. 

So I've modified the theme abit for my own use and moved them to a different area by editing the index.template.php and index.css (to position them)    Now when I disable Mootools they do not disappear but instead move to the right side of the browser window ----------------->  way off the page.

Any ideas?    I've left Moo tools enabled on my real forum for now but can send you a link to my test site via PM so you can see what I mean if needbe.

p.s. this occurs with IE 7.0    Doesn't with Firefox/Opera      Trying to make sure it works correctly in all cases here.
