that should work, and the good thing is that it only needs to be done once :)

Hello, I need help on the iFrame on Facebook.

I was able to successfully install the mod without any problems.  At first I chose the Scroll Bars option, which went well.  However, I didn't really like how it looked like having horizontal & vertical scroll bars.  So I tried, the Auto-Resize option and it did remove the scrollbars (looks better!), problem is the height of the page did not resize to the expect height (it gets cut-off).

Anybody tried this successfully?

I got this fixed after a week of searching for a solution.  Apparently, I need to add a setAutoResize() to the code.

Here's the page where I got instructions: hxxp:www.hyperarts.com/blog/facebook-iframe-apps-getting-rid-of-scrollbars/ [nonactive]

On the code to add to function template_html_below(), you need to add this at the end of the <script>:
window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
    FB.Canvas.setAutoResize();
  }

I have installad SA Facebook Integration and got most of it to work (the Facebook side is still problematic as I need to write some code there and struggling a bit, any code examples welcome  :) ).

As a next step I have started to translate SA Facebook Integration  to Swedish and there is one error I can not resolve. The Swedish characters åäö comes up with square boxes (see attached screenshots). For reference I have also attached the semi-translated language file (all user facing text translated but not all admin screens).

One thing I tried is to change the language settings in the main administration panel for SA Facebook Integration to sv_SE (instead of en_US) but this makes no difference.

The main language of the forum is swedish-utf8 and the database is also set up with utf-8.

Any help appriceated

I was just curious about a few things.

I noticed that for awhile SA™ was very active on this thread and then he seemed to disappear abruptly and I haven't seen this member in about a week. Is this person on vacation or taking a break for awhile?. I was just wondering, that's all.

The other question I had was is the upcoming release of Facebook's Javascript SDK what is holding up the next release of the Facebook integration mod?. I've just kind of been assuming that it was since SA™ said earlier that there was an incompatibility and because Facebook won't be releasing it until the 20'th of July, 2011.

Anyway, just pondering, musing and wondering...

Small bump, i have tried to go through the code but can not find any place were language or character sets are loaded for SA Facebook Integration.

The lanugage field in the admin panel seems to affect the way the application interacts with Facebook rather than the actual language in SMS (Am I correct in that assumption?)

Thx in advance for any support. If I get this resolved I will finalize the translation to Swedish.

Swedish (Locale setting)

Edit: also the application uses connection to swedish:   '//connect.facebook.net/sv-SE/all.js'

The text from Facebook displays correctly, with the Swedish characters, the problem is the menu options and buttons in SMF. As you see in the screenshoot you get the square instead of local characters for the modification but for the base theme, local charcters works

Glad to hear your still around SA and that the Facebook plugin is alive and and well!. As a programmer, do you think updating the Javascript SDK will solve any of the following issues that people have been reporting lately?...

1) "Undefined" errors.
2) "White pages of death" (WPOD).
3) Intermittent Page-load delays.

These seem to be the main issues when I look through this thread and from what I am experiencing myself. If updating the Javascript JDK can solve these 3 issues, this plugin would be even more perfect than it already is :D

That seems about right since the locale relates to your app's language not the mods. I see you attached a file above where you stared translating the mod to Swedish... is it complete?

No it's not complete. I started with the user experince before the admin parts. Most suedes are ok with english but as Facebook are in Swedish I wanted to have the UI in Swedish.  I also want to make the final tests to see that the translation makes sense rather than being a word by word translation. It's a few hours work to get it completed but if the characters do not display correctly it's a "waste" of effort.

I just checked my own error log to confirm. Looks like I'm getting lots of those too...

The database value you're trying to insert does not exist: member_id

To get into a position were I can start using this on my Forum I have used a duct-tape workaround and replaced all åäö with aao. Not an ideal solution but I'm not able to find the error.

For reference please find a completed translation of SA Facebook Integration to Swedish (with local characters) if someone manages to solve the problem (comments on the translation welcome, I have not translated things that are not translated in Facebook lfor instance "Facebook Applikation Secret" ).

Another question I have is were the image "Publish" that are loaded on every topics comes from. I would like to translate that as well but can not find were the source is linked.

Solved the problem, I made a mistake when the UTF-8 file was saved (needs to be saved in UTF-8 format). I have also made some minor updates to the translation and you can find the complate file attached.

So SA Facebook Integration now works with Swedish characters and are translated to Swedish

One thing I'm still trying to figure out is where is the souce of the text on the two buttons , "Publish" and "Connect with Facebook". They seems to come from other source than the text file.

First I want to thank the mod creator for their hard work, I dont want to sound ungreatful because I really wanted this mod but found out it wasnt what I expected.

I wanted to use this mod, but I had a couple problems I think people should be aware of just incase, luckily the problems were early on in my forums life and didnt affect me that bad. The first time I installed this when it started the redirect to put your app id info in the screen went white and completely killed my forum, would not load any pages and no error or anything was showing.a simple reinstall didnt work I had to restore my database for some reason, lukily I had a backup. I reinstalled the whole forum and installed safacebook again and it did the same thing, the third time finally installed. If anyone could shed light as to why, I would love to know?

I wanted it for the login with facebook function only but it seemed more difficult to use that than to just register, is there anyway to make this simple like most facebook logins on other sites? I mean if I wanted to use that to login and then it ask me to give the facebook app permissions and then wants a user name and password just seems a little much for any user to agree with.

Again I dont want to sound like a ass, I really wanted this, is there going to be a update for a most useful simplistic version?

Kindred

Blame Facebook, not this mod....   Facebook changed their security protocols and require app approval and acceptance. There is very little that this mod, or any other, can do about it.
