Mod problems?

Just been trying to install mods on RC.3 and it keeps telling me i aint set the files to writable. Ive changed the chmod from 644 to 777 to 755 and back etc.. and it still wont work.

Now ive installed alot of smf forums but RC.3 seems to be a pain with installing mods. Ive even tried to upload straight to the server but nothing.

What specific error message are you getting?

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

Is there a folder in the packages directory called temp?
If not create one and make sure it has 755 permissions too.
