This last upload attempt errored on some blog add on I don't even use but I cannot find it in the admin section.

Well, you got past the attachments error, right? That's progress. :)

What error did you get about the blog thing?

As for the blog mod (SMF add ons are called mods), first see if you can uninstall it. If you can't find it anywhere, you might have uninstalled it already. Most mods don't remove their database entries when you uninstall them, with the reason that mods can use existing database entries if/when you reinstall them.

When mods modify the forum database, they usually add one or more of three kinds of stuff: tables, columns (or fields) and rows. Tables are the easiest to remove. When you export the database table from phpMyAdmin, you should see the list of tables in the left upper side of the export table. Simply deselect any tables that contain the word "blog" in their names and select the rest.

All tables in the database are already selected by default, so keep the Ctrl key on the keyboard pressed when you click on the tables you want to remove and the rest should stay selected. Then export and try the import again.
