Hello,

I have a problem sending email to my members of my forum. The email shown as sent but not reaching the members. I also attempted to send the email in the mail queue but I got this error:

"The database value you're trying to insert does not exist: last_mail_send"

Please help!

Thanks.

Thank you for the information. I will go through the procedures and give feedback.

I tested with the script as instructed. I got a confirmation that "mail is send :-)" but did not receive any message in the email address used. Please help!

Just to make sure, you did change the email address on that script, right? If so, then your host does not have PHP mail enabled. You have two options, well 3 I guess...
1. Ask your host to enable PHP mail.
2. Setup SMTP mail where Ryanteck pointed out. You can use your personal email if you want.
3. Switch hosts, would probably be my last resort if the first 2 didn't work and your host can confirm that the SMTP port isn't blocked.

Thank you all for supports. I contacted my host and it was confirmed that PHP mail is enabled. I was also given SMTP settings but did not work either. I don't know what could have caused the problem because I usually send emails before.

Kill Em All

When you ran that script. You did change the email address in it, right? I'm just making sure because if so, then PHP mail is obviously not enabled.
If not, try it again and make sure to replace your email address. Check your spam folder as well.

I did change the email address. Please find below error message in my logs. It is classified "critical":

What mods do you have installed. How did you upgrade to 2.0, or was it a clean install, what versions was it from and to?

I actually started with 1.1.10, upgraded to 1.1.11, then to 2.0 RC2, and finally to 2.0 RC3. At a point in time, I did clean installation of 2.0RC3 with my old database. I hope this helps!

Kill Em All

When you did the clean install of RC3, you did have a updated RC3 database, correct? A database that was with RC2 will not work in a RC3 forum.

I doubt it if my forum database was fully upgraded to RC3. Is there any way to check this? Do we have any fix for it?

Kill Em All

Grab a SMF 2.0 RC3 large upgrade package, then just upload the SQL files and the upgrade.php to the root of your SMF folder, then run the upgrade.php in your browser.

Once everything is all set and done, delete the SQL and upgrade.php files.

Thank you for your guide. I will do this and give feedback, although, I have attempted this before but failed to complete.

If it fails, make sure to give us the exact error message it gives you.

I got the following error at first instance:

Creating and verifying "board_permissions"... Successful!

This query:
INSERT IGNORE INTO infostrides_board_permissions

VALUES (3, 0, 'moderate_board'), (2, 0, 'moderate_board');
Caused the error:

Try replacing your upgrade_2-0_mysql.sql that is in the same directory as your upgrade.php with this file provided. Then run the upgrade.php again.

There was no difference. Similar error occurred.

After looking at your error and the upgrade_2-0_mysql.sql file, I have no idea what might be the problem. I had one hunch at first, but I do not think it was right. I'm gonna see if anyone else might know what the problem may be. Sorry I could not be further help. I'll post back if I come up with a better solution.

In your database, look in your smf_settings table. Replace "smf" with the prefix you typed when installing SMF. Look for a variable in there that says "smfVersion" and let us know what it says for it. It should say SMF 2.0 RC2.

I have the correct prefix in it "infostrides_settings". I checked for the variable "smfVersion", there is nothing like that there. Please find below contents of "_settings"

I expanded all "_settings" to check all variables inside but could not see anything like "smfVersion"
