custom profile page

Sorry with this has already been asked, I searched but for some reason it will only show me the first page.
What i want to do is add a profile page where they can enter all sorts of details about their labs.
Even if there was a way just to create a section where i could put custom profile fields.

Ha heres one i can actually answer!!

custom profile fields.....

Admin - configuaration - core features - 2nd one down, turn it on

then

features and options - profile fields - new field box in the bottom right corner

thanks but i am using that feature already. what i wanted was these fields on a seperate page/area in the profile

I have created a new area in the profile for users labrador details. to fill it up i would like to use custom profile fields.
when you create a new field the 3rd option is profile section: with a drop down. which file do i need to edit in order to add the new section to this menu.
