Hi,

Is there any way to restrict a certain forum to members by gender?

Nope.

Software can't stop a guy pretending to be a girl, or vice-versa.

Some people lie, you know. :(

Yes I know that... I used to use SMF 1.x with the Age & Gender mod which is not compatible with 2.X
