Need Some Advice and Suggestions from the Experienced Users Of SMF

Hello Friends,
How are you all? Friends previously I have used smf 1.1.11 version but I am not much advance user in SMF like you but I like the script in comparison to other forum scripts. Now I want to start a webmaster forum just like warrior forums. Where different users can register their accounts and do different useful discussions but there should be one private or VIP group just like Warrior Forum. Where people can pay through PayPal in order to view or participate in that private area, general members can't access those sections.

So friends I a very confused about it, whether SMF offers such types of feature or not, if its offering then which script to choose, as I just found there are two type of script SMF 1.1.12 and SMF 2.0 RC4 am I right?

So I am confused whats the difference between these two types of scripts and which one is good? and what should I do and which one to choose. As you are all very experienced in this script so kindly let me know about this and help me out from this confusion.

And another thing for SMF 2.0 RC4 the smf team has written one warning message, "Note: As this is in development, we do not recommend running SMF 2.0 RC4 on a production site."

What does it mean?

In brief kindly let me know

1- which script to choose as per my needs, as I have mentioned everything clearly above.
2- Whats the difference between these two types of SMF script

I hope some experienced members will sure help me out. I am waiting for your help. Mod If I am posting this question in wrong sections then kindly move the thread but don't delete this.

built into smf 2.0 is a paypal subscription mod by default.

smf 2.0 is still not a fully released version but many people have used it with little to no problem, but your choice which way you want to go.

Thanks friend for your reply but you please suggest me what to do, whether to choose smf 1.1.12 or the SMF 2.0 RC4?

As I said that I am new to the script and have not much idea about both script so kindly let me know whats the difference between these two scripts and which one to choose and which is the bug free script. Please suggest me, I need advice from senior members like you.

both smf 1.1.12 and smf 2.0 RC4 are in working order, just RC4 may have more issues as 2.0 is not fully released. it is up to you and your skill level which you would rather work with. if you dont mind waiting a month or longer you could start out with smf 2.0 when it is released fully.
