FTP meaning your Control Panel. or Filezilla :).

Look in your folder directory.

/public_html/forums/Packages/
Your RSS Modification should be placed in there have a look at the permissions on the right of the folder ;).

An0nymousHelper

Ok i took a look at it and this is what i got. Are these correct?

Ashley S

Try making the Modification permission 777 ;)
See how that goes.

Bigguy

There will be different permissions for files then there are for folders. I would ask your host what each should be.

didn't work :(

Ashley S

Hm i have no clue then aha :P.
Like Bigguy said ask your host what the permissions should be for that modification ;).

Bigguy

Not for that modification just ask what the permissions are supposed to be for files and folders.

An0nymousHelper

ok, so i guess there is no way for me just to restore it then? I have a restore point that i made (about 10 days ago) it's .sql one that i got not from GoDaddy but from the admin panel on smf. If i go through PhpMyAdmin i get an error every time i try and import it :( I just need this forum up very fast.

Bigguy

An0nymousHelper

Yes thats what i am doing any i get an error :(

The error i get is this  Error: 1062 I looked it up and means

Error: 1062 SQLSTATE: 23000 (ER_DUP_ENTRY)

Message: Duplicate entry '%s' for key %d

Ashley S

Your entering a duplicated entry code you sure your doing right??

Bigguy

Is that the whole error message you get.

An0nymousHelper

Hmm i think i'm doing it correct i read that post with the tutorial, You just sign into the Phpmyadmin and then click on your database then click Import and select the .sql file correct? I did see part saying to create a new database but thats just if you dont have one already right? (i obviously have one)

anyways here a pic

An0nymousHelper

Should i delete the database that the forum is on right now and create a new one with the same name then import the .sql backup into it? Or will i loose everything?

Bigguy

If you create a new database then drop all the tables in it then import your old database that should work or you could delete the smf_log_search_subjects from the .sql file and try uploading it again. I do it that way when I get an error like that. You would need a program that will open .sql files. Something like php designer or notepad ++ would work.

Bigguy

If you delete entries from the .sql file make sure you keep a copy of the original .sql backup file so you have it if it does not work. :)

An0nymousHelper

Im not sure how to "drop all the tables in the new data base lol, so i think ill try and delete the smf_log_search_subjects from the .sql file and see if i can figure that out ;) wish me luck lol

Bigguy

Good luck. It's not that hard and as far as I know that part is really not needed in the backup anyway. The forum should still function fine for you. :)

oh 1 thing i have a backup from about 10 days ago so it wont have all the newest thing but its ok as long as i get the forums up. That back up is a Complete back up, i have another backup from earlier on today but its not the full complete backup. Like when in the admin panel if you go to ( i forget what the full thing is called as i cant look back, im doing this from memory) but you go to where you can click Backup there is a checkbox that says something and then "the important stuff" the backup that i have from earlier on today has just that one and the backup from about 10 days ago has all check boxes checked off and it has Complete in the file name. I hope you understand what i'm trying to say lol i no i say it in sort of a confusing way, sorry :)

Bigguy

Yup I understand confusion, lol ;)
