Folks in several threads have requested some kind of tutorial on how to contribute to SMF up on GitHub.  The online GitHub help is useful and accurate, but minimalistic...  (They assume you know a lot before you go there looking for help... ::) )

Attached is an overview of how to participate on GitHub, with specific information on SMF provided.
