What would be the optimal way to handle sessions?

I have eaccelerator and memcached. I don't want global cookies. Should I use eaccelerator or a mix of the db and memcached? Maybe just the db?

What should 'session.auto_start' be?

I am open to any suggestions. I have total control of the server so anything to make them optimal, I can do.

For multiple servers, db is best.

For one server, I'm not sure.  If you have free ram, I would assume eaccelerator is best.

I woudl recommend against enabling session.auto_start.
