Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then

I have installed smf.  i have tried version 1.6 and 2.02.  If I click on the admin link, i get a login screen, and then i get the "Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again."  error. 

i have read other posts, and tried some things, but so far, i can't make this work

Hi, p2k4 and welcome!

Have you tried clearing-out your browser's cache and cookies?

Maybe emptied the forum's "cache" directory, too?

I also have this problem. I have tried every suggestion ever posted about this everywhere on the web. Nothing works.

I formatted my hard drive then installed the OS cleanly and LAMP. Then I followed the directions for SMF installation and got these errors after it said it installed correctly.

Do you only see this when you click on the Admin link or do you see it when logging into the forum?  Is this happening when you are using the default theme?
