I have a problem with my admin page. It doesn't show everything. It doesn't show things like news / newsletters, bords, post and topics,, and so on.

Are you sure you're an admin?!? How did you set your site up? Any mods installed? Are there other admins who might have changed your status? I'm pretty sure this isn't a bug, but I'll leave it here for now until you can provide further information. :)

Check d pix link i posted. Dats how my admin section looks. My host is x90x.net

The problem with a lof of these "One click install" things, is that they're often offering out of date versions of SMF, as I'm sure Mashby will confirm.

Can I make a suggestion?

How do you feel about installing it properly?

Have a look at this:

http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Installing

It's actually a lot easier than it looks.

It's so easy, in fact, that even I can do it! ;)

Victorinyang1

I know how to install smf. Ave done it before

Victorinyang1

But after installing it, i updated it to SMF 2.0.2. Hope you have seen the pix

Mind providing a link to your site?

That link redirects me to a pr0n site...

kat

If you switch to the SMF default theme, can you see the admin stuff, then?

Victorinyang1

No i see only some admin section especiall administrative center

kat

Curious...

Might be worth you trying this:

http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php

Can you ask your host if you have full ownership of the files on your site? Whilst you're at it, you might ask them to check that mod_security is DISabled, too.

Tells me Error Installing package. Where can i get the Smf 2.0.2 cos i want to install a fresh Smf

Victorinyang1

After installing a new Smf, is it possible to restore my settings, packages and boreds fron the old one to the new one

kat

It would probably have been easier to do that, rather than installing from scratch.

From your old site's CPanel>backups, you can backup both the database and the forum (Home directory).

To move them to another domain, just go to the new site's CPanel>Backups and restore them.

After you've done that, you'll need this:

http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php

to put the paths, etc. right.

If restore, will i still have the same problem am having with admin section

kat

I really don't know and I have no way of knowing, either, I'm afraid.

If you back up your new forum, before doing what I suggested, if it doesn't work, you can always restore what you have, now.

As long as the old forum is the same version as your new one, you can just import the database, if you want to. That'll give you your members, posts, etc. But, none of your mods, etc.
