Dear Simple Machines Community,

Due to malicious actors abusing TOR services, we have restricted TOR-based access to our website. At this time, TOR users will be restricted in what actions they can perform on our site. We will continue to adjust this as needed, and we hope to keep both the degree of restrictions and the number of people affected as minimal as possible.

We would like the TOR community to know that those of us here at Simple Machines believe in privacy and protecting our freedoms on the Internet. However, while TOR offers a high degree of privacy, it comes with a double-edged sword that allows malicious actors to use anonymous services to commit heinous acts.

We realize that this greatly affects those who have a legitimate need for anonymity, even here in our community. We do not like taking this action, and we will continue looking for solutions that will allow TOR users to resume contributing to our community.

Thank you!

Thank you for the clear explanation, SleePy. It's understandable given the challenges involved. Hopefully, a balanced solution can be found going forward.

You will be surprised, but in some countries simplemachines.org is blocked.
TOR or VPN help to get access to this forum. It would be a good idea to create a user group, where a forum member would ask him to be included.

Could be difficult, you'd need to first get here to be able to request membership to be let in here.
Like SleePy said, stopping people from reaching us is not something we wanted to do, but ...
