I have various errors when I try to ''preview'' in my post.

You'll need to be more specific if you want support.

Dont worry motoko chan, I have fixed the error

thank you ;)

Thanks for a great mod!  Very useful... the forum I run is about puzzles, riddles, and such, so the spoiler tag will come in handy.

One thing, though:  A lot of our members make use of the news feed, where the spoiler-text shows up in full.  Is there any way around this?

青山 素子

gotskott, not that I'm aware of. I believe the RSS stuff in SMF strips all but the most basic formatting. Most readers will strip out the JS and CSS that is relied upon for the tag anyway as they won't load remote styles.

Thanks Motoko-chan!  I don't suppose you know where that stripping takes place?  I was thinking if I could understand it, then maybe I could add an exception for [spoiler] tags.

Was the spoiler tagging in private messages ever made possible?

Hi, I'm using a rather old version of the mod -- but haven't had any problems with it so haven't really seen the need to update.

However, I and my users have noticed that if we just use the spoiler in post without any other text outside of the spoiler tag, in Chrome and Safari, the spoiler doesn't quite expand. No problems in FF or IE. Was wondering if this has been fixed,  hasn't been fixed yet, or if it's a browser+CSS issue that can't be fixed.

Erhm I'm getting Parse Errors...

              4.   Execute Modification   languages-20/english.xml   Modification parse error
   5.   Execute Modification   languages-20/english.xml   Modification parse error
   6.   Execute Modification   themes-20/curve.xml   Modification parse error
   7.   Execute Modification   themes-20/curve.xml   Modification parse error
   8.   Execute Modification   themes-20/core.xml   Modification parse error
   9.   Execute Modification   themes-20/core.xml   Modification parse error

How can this be solved?

Hmmmm. I'll double-check the package as soon as I have time, but it should work fine.

Hey guys! I can't seem to be able to change the spoiler permissions. When I go to Admin/Permissions, there is no mention of the world spoiler and it doesn't seem to be possible to change spoiler permissions. I am running smf version 1.1.11 and I have tried the following versions of the spoiler tag from the following mod:

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=195

Spoiler-0.7.1.tar.gz
Spoiler-0.7.2.tar.gz

Neither of those versions has enabled me to change spoiler permissions... has the feature been removed completely? I remember reading the readme that said that I should be able to change permissions. Any help?

青山 素子

Newer versions of the Spoiler modification removed the permissions "system" as it created a ton of bugs concerning where the tag would work and broken nesting.

Do later versions allow everyone to post spoiler tags in private messages?

青山 素子

As they are just normal BBC now, they should; I didn't test specifically for that use, however.

It would be quite useful for my forum to have spoiler tags visible to members only... is there an older version I can download that allows permissions to be set?

The 0.6 series was the last with the ability to set "permissions". It is not supported nor is it coded to work with 2.0 RC2 or newer.

I have a request.  Using SMF 1.1.11

I prefer the button click spoiler option, but I really , really like how the "show on hover" looks more professionsl ( with the border around the spoiler text to organize what all is contained in the spoiler tag.

Is there any way to make the content from the click on button look the same as when it's hovered on.

Edit the CSS added to the theme.

Let's pretend I have no idea what I'm doing.   Whic one goes for the spoiler click on button, and which goes for the hover ...

fieldset.spoiler
{
border: 1px dashed gray;
}

fieldset.spoiler > legend
{
font-size: 1.2em;
}

div.spoilerheader a
{
font-family: sans-serif;
font-size: 1.1em;
font-weight: bold;
}

div.spoilerheader input
{
background-color: #cececc;
color: #3e3e33;
font: 0.9em sans-serif;
}

div.spoilerbody
{
color: #0f0f0f;
border: 1px dotted gray;
padding: 1em;
margin: 1em;
}

fieldset.spoiler div.spoilerbody
{
border: 0px;
padding: 0em;
}

Not a single failed modification, and I cannot find the Admin item for it at all! I don't want hover to show, the click a button one. Thanks, I like this better than the other smf 2.0rc3 version of a spoiler tag.
