I know when adding a link to a post you can use:
<display text>
but how or where do you add or put the rel="nofollow"
I have tried sevral combinations and none seem to work.
Is this something that needs a mod?
I dont want all links nofollow just a few..

Thanks in advance.

<a href="http://www.somesite.com/" title="Some Site" rel="nofollow">Visit Some Site</a>

seems the way to go.

But, of course, that'll only work if you use html in posts. Only admins can do that.

There's a mod, which adds a bbc option:

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1237

That'll need the poster to use the tags, though.

Depends how you're going to be able to differentiate which links you want this added to, though. I can't see how you'd make it automatic, if you want to achieve that.

BTW... Some of us think that nofollow sucks.

Thanks for the help.
I have tried first with html
Post & Settings>Bulletinboardcode>Enablebascishtml inposts>save
then added
<a href="http://barrattdonotcare.wordpress.com" title="Barratt Do Not Care" rel="nofollow">Barratt Do Not Care</a>  All it did was add it as text.
I then tried the #code button and added between:
<a href="http://barrattdonotcare.wordpress.com" title="Barratt Do Not Care" rel="nofollow">[b]Barratt Do Not Care[/b]</a>[/color]
Just got the code text in aquote type box!

Then I set uop the package you suggested and tried the link as:
[nofollow=http://barrattdonotcare.wordpress.com/]Barratt do not care[/nofollow]

This works as a link alright but when I look at Source>Find>nofollow in IE for the post: the link is not listed as no follow.

By the way, "No follow" is good IMO because it stops competitor websites gaining link juice and stops association with bad websites too.

You have to enable html, if you want to use it in posts. But, as I said, only admins can use it, for reasons of security.

I'm not fobbing you of, here. But, if the mod's not doing what you'd expect it to, you'd get the best help, for that, in the mod's support topic. :)

I am the ADMIN.
As I said:
"I have tried first with html
Post & Settings>Bulletin board code>Enable basic html inposts>save
then added:
<a href="http://barrattdonotcare.wordpress.com" title="Barratt Do Not Care" rel="nofollow">Barratt Do Not Care</a>

All it did was add the blue bit as text even though html was enabled.

Sorry. Early in the day. ;)

Only basic HTML is covered, there. Maybe part of that isn't regarded as "Basic"?

There's a "?" button, in admin, where that is. I believe that shows you which tags are allowed. :)

Tags allowed are:
•<b>, <u>, <i>, <s>, <em>, <ins>, <del>
•<a href="">
•<img src="" alt="" />
•<br />, <hr />
•<pre>, <blockquote>

Code added was:
<a href="http://b45rattdonotcare.wordpress.com" title="Barratt Do Not Care" rel="nofollow">Barratt Do Not Care</a>

Anyway, I have found out how to get the nofollow mod to work.
For others, what you need to do is highlight the bit  "in RED" in your link:
(url=http://barr45tdonotcare.wordpress.com/][nofollow]Barratt do not care[/nofollow](/url)
and click the hyperlink next to the "insert hyperlink" Globe button. (The one with a red cross)
It then adds nofollow bbc and it all works fine.

Thank you for your help K@  Love the pussycat!
