Didn't received new password

Hello, My username was admin on my forum
When I changed it to new one, I logged out automatically.
Now i login , it doesn't logins.
I clicked on forgot password and entered by email
Now I logged in my email and didn't received new password
I did it 4 timees
Still can't receive.

Then I came to FTP Access,
Opened settings.php
Changed my email to other email
Then I entered that email in forgot password
It says no username associated.

Now what the solution ?

PS: I am adding the older email back in settings.php now.
