I was looking for some thing to help keep track of bug reports. It can be from the web site. or software or any thing the web master can think of.

I think this would be a nice add on for SMF

There's the Project Tools mod but I don't know what state it's in and whether it works on a current version or not.

Um, I've been using it for years... But maybe the author removed it from the mod site and moved it to his Github.

Well that's possible. Or maybe he could be updating it. I don't know. I did a search on google and came up with some matches. I'll just have to keep looking. I don't think it will work with my version of SMF.

And then you can obtain it from Github: https://github.com/SMF-Arcade/SMF-Project-Tools

Hey thanks, How ever that's what I thought. He never updated it. It's only for SMF 2.0

And what are you running exactly?

If you're worried about 2.0.6 compatibility, 2.0 through 2.0.6 should work absolutely fine.

Nope, I all ready tried it. and it error out and said that it couldn't install because the mod didn't support this version of SMF.

I have no idea why it didn't work on my SMF. do you have any ideas. I just don't know why.

Where did you download it from? Did you download it from Github as margarett did?

margarett

Download from GH.
Unzip the file and re-zip it *WITHOUT* the folder it contains. So, you have a zip with a folder and, inside that folder, files and folders, re-create a zip from this.
Upload the new zip file through Package Manager. DO NOT install it.
Go to "Browse Packages". Click "Advanced" at the bottom and emulate 2.0. Now install the MOD.

There 'ya go ;)

Yes I did. I couldn't even find the file until he showed me the link. At the time I was still looking for the file. I downloaded it and uploaded it to my SMF web site and clicked install and well it just said it couldn't install.

Ah, so you haven't seen the advice of How can I install a mod that doesn't work in my SMF version?... (as margarett outlines above)

Thanks, Last time I tried to do some thing like that was over 4 years ago and I'll never do it again. The installer created and changed the pages a round and screwed them up. I couldn't fix it. I had to report the mod and discard the mod. and I never heard back.

It took me hours to reinstall SMF and use a back up I had. It just sucks.

Well, the MOD author does state that it could damage you forum, set your house on fire and put sugar in your car's fuel tank :P :P :P
Joking... As long as you backup first, you are always safe when trying something risky like that ;)

Were you able to install it now?

Considering that all the emulate function does is allow you ignore the version check, if you had problems with it, you would have had problems REGARDLESS.

All the emulate function is doing is changing what package-info.xml is going to be reporting, so instead of 2.0 it says 2.0.6 (only doing it without having to edit the file itself)

Guess you're going to have to go without a bug tracker then, because those are your two choices.
