What do you need this for?
I'm asking because you can already do something pretty similar with post count based membergroups and permissions...
Se forem conduzir, não bebam. Se forem beber... CHAMEM-ME!!!! :D

I get people to post a intro, before i give them the member group. but some members post all over the forums without posting a intro and I don't want them being in the member group if they don't post in the introduction thread.

As I thought, this can be done using permissions only ;)

Some useful readings:
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Permissions
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Permissions_-_How_do_I_set_up_post-count_based_membergroup_permissions

Basically, you need to activate permissions for post count based membergroups *AND* the "Deny" permissions --> ACP --> Permissions --> Settings

Then you need to create a Permissions profile to your "Introduction" boards. Copy that profile from Default and apply it to said board.

Then you need to create a post-count based membergroup with 1 post.

Finally you need to edit the "Default" permissions profile and, to the membergroup "Newbie" (the membergroup with 0 posts) you DENY the permission to create topics and reply to posts.

And that's it. Those members cannot post anywhere until they post in your Introductions board ;)
