Please help!

Someone please help me. So I recently switched hosts from x10hosting to godaddy hosting. I installed smf to my godaddy host, so i have the original forum(No threads,original layout etc). I have a backup file from my old forum with my custom layout and forum threads etc. But I do not know how to use my backup file on my new hosting w/ godaddy, i put in alot of work when I was hosting at x10hosting. I really do not wanna have to re-do it. Someone please help!

Thank you for that, But where do i move my files too on godaddy? databases then?

You move your files into the new file location and you move your database into the new database
Also, please note that "help" or variations of that are not useful titles... A more useful title would have been "need help transferring my forum to godaddy"

these are the backups i have. so how do i get my files for the file folder? their all just 1 document

Those are database backups... It looks like you do not have a backup of your files...

Which is not necessarily an issue, since the database actually has all of the important information, like users and messages.
You won't be able to restore attachments or avatars... Unless you still have access to your old host?

i didnt have any avatars or attachments so thats fine lol. I just want my topics back. Where do i put the database? it was a new forum so i didnt have any members or messages, i just want my forum topics back etc. thank u for the help guys also

You need to go into go daddy's database management... I think they have phpmyadmin. And then import that file into your database...

But you will have to upload and run repair_settings.php, as indicated in the wiki article referenced above.

You could also try asking godaddy support for help getting your database loaded

thank u for ur help bro i really appreciate it. ok so i downloaded repair.php but when i try to upload it into my main root file it doesnt let me? am i doing it right?

Now you seem to be trying to load the php script into your database....

Staff members can't tell you directly that GoDaddy is very bad without stating "this is not smf opinion etc" but as a somehow noob user I can link this stuff without adding anything else and I *highly* suggest you to change your host again to a better one, maybe one indicated in that topic because seriously I wouldn't get a Go Daddy account not even if THEY paid ME.

Dude ftp account doesn't matter here if it just doesn't work. Follow Kindred's advice.
