Hello,

For example:
If i click bold bbc icon in editor nothing shows up in editor as it is supposed to show this
[b][/b]

Hope you understood my problem.

Thanks

That's its default behaviour. Check this link to see what the WYSIWYG editor does: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Posting :)

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.

I know but it is not working

Hm. Did you install any mods affecting posting features? Can you provide your mods list? Is your error log clean? SMF version? The problem started randomly or after installing a mod?
Also... The wysiwyg editor should edit the text in real-time, I mean that you shouldn't be seeing any code such as this "[b][/b]", it won't show up, it will just make your text bold directly while typing. One more thing, the wysiwyg editor is known for being buggy and many people (including me) decided to fully disable it on their forums.

When I manually type [b][/b] it works but clicking the icon bold doesn't do anything.

Um, the point of WYSIWYG is that it is 'what you see is what you get' meaning that you're not supposed to see the bold code but that you should be able to start typing and up it comes in bold. Or type some text, highlight it, press bold.

The thing is, you know and I know that it is the default behaviour - but someone who isn't used to it might not realise what 'the default behaviour' is. It is not exactly the most obvious thing to use.

Also, would not recommend that mod. Been way too many issues resulting out of it.

So...

1- problems don't start randomly on computers.  There is always a cause.
2- you keep saying, it doesn't work... But you're not actually providing clear details,
3- have you tested with the default theme?
4- have you tested with a different computer and/different browser?

In your flirts post you said, that the bbc does not show up when you press the bold button.
This is correct behavior. It's not supposed to show up.
If you press the bold button and then continue typing, the text will be in bold... Even of no bbc is visible.
If you highlight text and press the bold button, that text will be converted to bold... Even if no bbc is visible.

In the  wysiwyg editor, the Bbcode is never displayed...  The text is just formatted the correct way, inline perhaps italics or underline might be easier to notice than bold, when you are testing?

If you still claim that "it doesn't work" then you will need to give us a link to your forum along with a temporary account login and password to test it....      Because, if it is actually failing, I would bet you, the error is in your browser, with a JavaScript failure.

Yup, that's what we're here for. Glad you got it sorted, but please do let us know if it acts up again as it might be the sign of something deeper.
