Bug in smf 2.0.9, board description

Hello Guys,

I am reporting a bug with smf 2.0.9 , Board Description edit issue.

When in admin, modify boards if you add a board Description such as "Dogs & Cats stories", then save it.
Then once board is created if you go back in to modify the board the description then changes.
The board description will now read "Dogs & Cats stories".

It happens with every board description I have edited and that have "words & words".

But it only happens in the description and not in Full Name area.

Just thought I would let you know as i did not find it list in the forum

That's not actually a bug, it is entirely by design.

& internally must be converted to & otherwise other things will break - as you can see, & is used at the front of certain things (amongst others, <, >) and to avoid confusion it must be changed.

I did a search before i posted the email, but nothing showed up..

Nah, no need to apologise. I can certainly see how it might look like a bug, but in this case it isn't. Far better that you find out for sure
