I tried to upgrade my board a few or three weeks ago and got a error and didn't have time for it(had to leave for work).. Came back and tried to access it and was having problems.. I'm no computer genius by any means!! I was on 2. Something.. I've had SMF for many years and now, I have a 5 or 6 yr old board that is down the drain..

Can anybody help?

Like I said, I'm no computer guru.. And don't even know if this is the section that needs to be posted in.

I'm getting this error

QuoteInternal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Bigguy

Sounds more like a server issue. Can you post your url so people can take a look.

Bigguy

Just to be sure...you backed up your database before you upgraded your forum right. ??

Bigguy

How far through the upgrade did you get. ??

Limpy

I did it through the admin panel.. If I remember correctly (its been over a month now) it gave me a error screen before I had to leave..

So, I came back trying to retrieve it, tried to start over and just re-install the backup and nada.. Just that error keeps coming up..

I don't mind starting over, It just sucks that 6 yrs down the drain!

Bigguy

If you upgraded through the admin panel you can't be on 2.1 That version of SMF is still in beta. It won't upgrade to that through the admin panel.

Limpy

I honestly don't remember what I had.. That's why I said 2. something.

Bigguy

Yes you were probably on 2.0.something not 2.1 I can move this for you if you like to the right board.

The site is throwing a 403, not a 500. Did you chmod it wrong or put a .htaccess in place to block traffic to it?
Usually, it's best to check in the error log why it's throwing an error. You can find it in cPanel.

Please do not PM for support - anything else is usually OK.

That will work, Thanks.. I'm about ready to throw my hands up..

Limpy

Thanks, I just deleted everything and gonna re-install and try and get it back that way.
