Moving the search bar from the header bar to the right side of navigation bar.

I am attempting remodel the curve2 theme to fit my website and run into a few issues I am unsure how to fix. My current live development forum holds my theme, it is powered by SMF 2.1 beta. I'm loving how easily modifiable the code is and how heavily influenced it is with css3. I have attempted to change the layout around a bit in the index.template.php file, moved the title to the header bar, moved the login/user links to the right, and wanting to move the search bar to the right side of the forum nav links.

Attached is what I am attempting to do but it doesn't seem to work properly for some reason, I'm not sure why. Perhaps the order in how everything is loaded maybe.
