Responsive vs Mobile Themes

From a coding perspective, responsive is a very ugly and bloated way of dealing with things. It can be made to work, but it aint pretty. Responsive also means that non-coders are pretty much screwed when it comes to making minor customisations to their sites, because responsive CSS is way beyond beginner level. Responsive basically means that there is no intermediate coding level any more. You either restrict yourself to just changing colours, or you learn enough to rebuild the entire interface.

Since I use bootstrap on my forum (responsive) I have to disagree with your statement, I find it very easy to customize even if it's bloated or ugly.

I couldn't stand using Bootstrap myself. Have taken a couple of looks at it, and would avoid it like the plague. Then again, I'm a code junkie and you're not, so we have different preferences.
