recent topic as board news

Hello everyone, pls i will like to know if there is a mod to turn recent topics to board news?
The idea is that i like the recent topic look, but it shows replies,i only need newly posted topics just like the board news.
Would have used d boardnews, but it does not read bbcode and not attractive.
I will largely appreciate any help from you guyz.
