I'm still working on it....

I will let you know when I get somewhere.

Thanks for your help - much appreciated.

But I give up. The whole exercise was basically a total waste of time. Errors, errors and more errors. I could spend years on it and get nowhere.

I'll stick with Snitz.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Hey, I know how you feel. I got the same deal when I updated my forum from 1.1.x to 2.0.x. I spent 2 and a half months sorting out all or the errors, editing columns, deleting tables (the previous admin manually customized the forum and I had no idea what he did, so... I had to find out the hard way :S).

I would suggest you don't give up. I've only worked with phpBB before I had any experience with SMF, but after I sorted all of the errors in the database conversion process, it was more or less a smooth ride ;)... which, as I recall, wasn't the case with phpBB... not to mention the terrible support forum (if someone does write, it's usually something you've already tried ::)... and the support ends there ::)).

The community here is great and most of the members here are more than willing to help out. If I knew that was the case, I would have written about my database conversion problem and probably cut my time in converting the database from 1.1.x to 2.0.x to half, but... as I've had bad experience with support forums before, I didn't :S.

It's your choice, but, if it was me, I'd keep trying.

I'll still be around if you change your mind ;).

BTW, I'm just curious... was there any non integer character in those particular columns in the database?
