Updating modules to a newer version?

I've been searching but I can't find instructions on updating a module to a newer version. Any help?

When you say module, are you referring to the modifications (mods)/plug ins on the site?

If so; assuming there is an updated version from what you are currently using, you would normally download the updated mod to your computer, uninstall (not delete) the mod you have installed, upload the new version with your package manager, and install the updated version.

Make sure when uninstalling your current version, that you do not check the box that says to remove all of the mod's data from the database (if that option exists for that mod), and when you install the new updated version, that you do check the option to install in other themes (if you are using other themes of course)
