Restore deleted account?

Hello,

Is there a way to restore an account which was deleted and re-associate it with all the posts? The account was deleted but the posts were not so I'd like to restore the account and put it back the way it was before.

I have access to the backend server and can run anything that would need to run on the mysql database

Sure, create a new account - and use the features in Admin > Maintenance > Forum Maintenance > Members to find all the posts with the right email or username, and attach them to the new account.

So there's no way to just reactivate the existing account from within mysql?

No, because it literally doesn't exist any more, the data is gone.
