Need to convert 1.x databases?

I need a way to convert old 1.x databases to 2.x, but my hosting won't let me install a 1.x board because the php version is above what it needs to be to install it. Is there a way to convert them without installing a board? I'm going a little nuts trying to make these work.

Hello there and welcome to SMF community!

I'd try with upgrade pack for 2.0 (if that's the branch you're aiming at) and just place old Settings.php file in directory with correct database data, so you can run upgrade which will perform needed changes in database.
Or you can locally upgrade forum from your PC/some other host with lower PHP version, and then transfer it to your server.

Depending how old 1.1 version is, upgrader may not get you directly from 1.1 to 2.0 in one go.  Also depends on php version you try to run it in.
