Ctrl+v paste image directly into post?
« on: May 05, 2021, 05:19:36 PM »
Has anyone considered revisiting the idea of a mod to be able to attach images with just a [CONTROL]-[V]?

This has become a commonly requested feature now that "modern" web browsers support it and people are getting used to things like xenforo forums that support it.  There are examples of how to grab the image data relatively easily using a bit of JavaScript, the mod would just need to turn it into an attachment, for example:

hxxp:blog.danielx.net/2011/09/21/html5-javascript-pasting-image-data-in-chrome/ [nonactive]

My programming skills are simply far too rusty for me to be able to easily make a decent quality mod, otherwise I would certainly attempt to do it myself already...  :)

I am not entirely sure but I think SMFHacks Message Editor Pro has this option, though I could be wrong...you could always ask in their presales board

otherwise SMFPacks Advanced Editor Mod has a drag and drop feature

but personally I'd go with smfhacks as they keep their mods up to date
